The mechanism of action

Laser hair removal is based on preferential absorption in the melanin chromophore, which is found mainly in the hair shaft and to a lesser extent in the skin depending on Fitzpatrick's skin type.

Targets the pigment in the hair follicle specifically around the bulb, ridge and vascular source.

The hair shaft should be treated in the anagen (active) phase of the hair growth cycle.
